JAMES BOND was joined by over 40 Brownies, Guides and Rainbows as they thanked the Mayor of Spelthorne for donating £4,500 to Girlguiding. The girls, who were joined by lookalike Douglas James, were representing over 1300 members of Girlguiding Spelthorne at Shepperton Studios, in Studio Lane, on Monday, 17 May.
They were at the studios to thank Councillor Caroline Spencer MAYOR for her donation of £4,500 which will be used to support activities and camps for girls aged five and upwards.
Caroline who finished her year term as Mayor 20th May 2010 chose Girlguiding as one of her charities to support She also supported One to One, a friendship scheme in Spelthorne for people with learning difficulties.
Girlguiding UK celebrates its centenary this year.
Assistant leader of the 7th Ashford Guides and Girlguiding county chair of marketing and information Rachael House, said: "I was overwhelmed at the amount we are receiving, which will particularly help families who struggle to pay for the opportunities that Guiding offers.
"Guiding could not exist without the hard work of volunteers, and we are always keen to involve more volunteers to give those girls waiting to join the opportunity to become members of Guiding."
